L'Arche Sudbury Inc. is seeking a House Leader to oversee the integration of the L’Arche Identity and Servant Leadership Model in daily life, while planning and delivering high-quality support for each person with a developmental disability and supervising all assistants and support workers in the home.

Qualifications

• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Excellent communication skills including directing and reporting to individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Knowledgeable about L’Arche history, values and vision.
• Ability to manage stress of multi-faceted responsibilities and to remain calm in crisis.
• Ability to delegate and supervise effectively.

Responsibilities

• Creates a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere based on house members’ needs.
• Plans inclusive celebrations reflecting house members.
• Supports life journey through individual plans, regular medical appointments, and daily activities.
• Oversees personal care and routines to high standards.
• Maintains accurate records across financial, medical, and planning areas.
• Ensures maintenance of the home, vehicles, and equipment.
• Schedules and conducts meetings and training for assistants.
• Liaises with families, guardians, professionals, and the leadership team.
