Job description

General Summary

The Hot Tap Technician performs hot tapping services at various client industrial sites with minimal shutdowns or service interruptions.

Essential Job Functions

1. Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy environment by adhering to company and customer safety standards and legal regulations, alerting others to potential hazards.
2. Performs assigned duties and upholds TEAM's Core Values.
3. Provides on-site hot tapping and line stop services, including:
   • Creating safe entry into pipes or vessels under pressure or vacuum
   • Performing hot taps and conventional line stops such as hot stops, hi-stops, super hi-stops, double line stops, 45-degree angle taps, tee stops, elbow stops, across-the-line stops, through-line valve stops, and freeze stops.
4. Identifies situations requiring proper safety procedures and equipment.
5. Documents all hot tapping activities as required.
6. Maintains hot tapping tools and equipment.

Job Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; technical training is a plus.
• Two years of industry-related experience preferred.
• Current HAZPOWER training certificate preferred.
• Travel requirements range from 0% to 75%.

Work Conditions

• Position based at a branch or site location.
• Work includes indoor and outdoor environments, often in noisy plant settings.
• Interaction with crew members, supervisors, and clients.
• Must wear safety equipment as required.
• Potential for travel and exposure to climate changes.

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Ability to lift 75 pounds.
