YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE :

Reporting to the Mine Supervisor and / or Mine Dispatchers you will be part of the Mine Operations Department. You will be responsible for assisting in leading a team of skilled and dedicated mine operators in the safe, efficient and cost-effective extraction of ore and movement of waste rock. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • Ensuring the safety of the team by applying a zero-harm approach to all tasks performed;
  • Assisting the Mine Supervisor and Dispatcher to optimize production in accordance with the mine plan;
  • Planning, organizing, leading and controlling resources to minimize delays and standby time on the haulage and loading fleet;
  • Coordinating the movement of material to meet the mine plan;
  • Communicating production information and changes to the Mine Supervisor, Technical Services, Mine Maintenance and the Process Plant to minimize production delays;
  • Communicating with mine operators to ensure that equipment delays are accurately recorded;
  • Promote a climate of trust and participation.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED with extensive open pit experience; or degree in mining or related field with operations experience;
  • Minimum three (3) years supervisory experience in an open pit mining operation;
  • Experience operating a fleet management system (dispatching);
  • Proven commitment to safety, health and environmental best practices;
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills;
  • Strong business acumen and competent computer literacy skills;
  • Experience working and leading cross-cultural teams is considered an asset;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Your Work Schedule :

  • Schedule : 7 days of work, followed by 7 days for transportation and rest;
  • Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
