Reporting to the Mine Supervisor and/or Mine Dispatchers, you will be part of the Mine Operations Department. Your responsibilities include leading a team of skilled mine operators to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective extraction of ore and waste rock. You will work to achieve departmental goals while promoting Agnico Eagle's values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure team safety by applying a zero-harm approach to all tasks.
- Assist the Mine Supervisor and Dispatcher in optimizing production according to the mine plan, organizing resources to minimize delays and standby time on haulage and loading equipment.
- Coordinate material movement to meet the mine plan.
- Communicate production information and changes to relevant departments to prevent delays.
- Ensure equipment delays are accurately recorded and promote trust and participation within the team.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED with extensive open-pit experience, or a degree in mining or a related field with operations experience.
- At least three (3) years of supervisory experience in open-pit mining operations.
- Experience operating fleet management systems (dispatching).
- Proven commitment to safety, health, and environmental best practices.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Strong business acumen and computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Valid Ontario driver’s license.
- Experience leading cross-cultural teams is an asset.
Work Schedule:
- 14 days of work followed by 14 days of transportation and rest at the Detour Lake mine.
- On-site accommodations and meals are provided at no cost. Transportation to and from the mine site is covered, along with other travel expenses based on your residence in Canada.
