Job summary

Oliver & Bonacini is hiring a Host to welcome guests, seat them, and manage reservation flow in our scenic Ontario dining venue. You will ensure a welcoming atmosphere, coordinate with front and back of house teams, and support guest experiences through attentive service.

The role requires Smart Serve certification, strong communication, and the ability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Training and development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Smart Serve certification required.
• Experience in guest-facing hospitality is a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests in a warm, professional manner.
• Manage reservations and walk-ins using OpenTable.
• Coordinate with FOH and BOH to optimize guest flow.
• Maintain cleanliness of the host stand and entrance.

Job Description

Under the direction of the Front of House Management Team, our Hosts create a positive guest experience that begins with a proper greeting. They maintain an efficient and organized restaurant through managing guest flow, maximizing seating capacity and communicating with all employees. Hosts leave a lasting impression with all guests through their professionalism and attention to detail.

The day to day:

• Greet and seat guests in a warm, professional, and timely manner
• Manage reservation and walk-in traffic using Open Table
• Monitor table rotation and coordinate with Front Of House and Back Of House teams to optimize guest flow
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the host stand and entrance area
• Answer guest inquiries and assist with special requests, wait times, or accommodations
• Support the overall guest experience with a friendly and attentive approach
• Assist with bussing tables and support the team by running food and beverages as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Valid Smart Serve Certification Required
• Previous experience as a host or in a guest-facing hospitality role is an asset
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Calm under pressure, with a proactive and team-oriented mindset
• Comfortable using reservation and table management systems (OpenTable), preferred
• A passion for hospitality and creating exceptional guest experiences
• Available to work flexibleshifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Legally eligible to work in Canada
