Schlegel Villages Support Office is located in Kitchener, Ontario. This role provides support to Villages located throughout southern Ontario, and the geographical home base of candidates is flexible, but regular travel will be expected.

Supported by the Senior Director of Hospitality and Food, the Hospitality and Food Specialist will provide operational oversight and mentorship to a dedicated group of Hospitality and Food leadership teams. The primary goal is to enhance the mealtime experience across all dining areas in the Village. They will serve as the first support level for the assigned Village Hospitality and Food Leaders.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will

  • Be an experienced Hospitality and Food leader with proven leadership experience;
  • Have the ability to lead through those you support;
  • Demonstrate a passion for continually improving the dining experience while following LTC and RHA Acts;
  • Have high competency working within dietary technology programs such as Mealsuite, PCC, etc.;
  • Be excited to broaden your skills, knowledge, and experience across our full continuum of mealtime experiences.

Assets that would be considered an advantage include:

  • A degree in Nutrition, membership in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management, a Red Seal Chef certification, or a degree in Hospitality;
  • A passion for servant leadership, with a focus on growing and developing people and teams;
  • Strengths-based leadership skills, utilizing each person’s unique strengths to build trust, show compassion, provide stability, and create hope;
  • Effective collaboration skills to foster positive partnerships and teams that support shared accountability and decision-making;
  • A willingness to learn and encourage learning in others, demonstrating self-awareness, self-initiative, and growth-oriented mindset;
