Job summary

Altum Health within the University Health Network is seeking a Physiotherapy Assistant to join the Krembil Discovery Tower team at Toronto Western Hospital. You will support clinicians, ensure safe, clean, and stocked clinical areas, supervise treatment activities, and assist with data entry and scheduling under therapist guidance.

Applicants should have a recognized Physiotherapy Assistant/Occupational Therapy Assistant certificate and at least one year of relevant experience, plus strong

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized Physiotherapy Assistant/Occupational Therapy Assistant certificate program.
• At least one year of relevant experience.
• Ability to solve problems and seek guidance of supervising staff when appropriate.
• Ability to communicate and deal effectively with difficult conversations and situations.
• Knowledge of the equipment and materials used in PT/OT treatments.
• Ability to function within an interdisciplinary team.
• Ability to function in a stressful environment while maintaining professional demeanor.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong data entry and computer skills including MS Office.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring all clinical areas are safe, clean, maintained and stocked with appropriate supplies at all times.
• Supervising clients during their treatment activities under therapist supervision and ensuring clients perform prescribed activities in an appropriate and safe manner.
• Maintaining communication with supervising therapist regarding patient progress.
• Using modalities as prescribed by the physiotherapist/occupational therapist.
• Providing administrative support including data entry to capture clinical visits and activities, scheduling, and other support activities.
• Performing cross-functional and/or other administrative duties as needed to ensure daily program efficiency.
