Job summary

St. Joe's is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the preparation, verification and supply of medications across the West 5th Campus and affiliated sites in Hamilton.

The role requires CCAPP accredited program or OCP-recognized training and current registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists. You will work Monday to Friday with afternoons to evenings in a hospital setting, using aseptic technique and hospital computer systems including KROLL.

Qualifications

• Completion of CCAPP Accredited Pharmacy Technician Program or OCP-recognized training.
• Current registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists as a Part-A Pharmacy Technician.
• Hospital experience preferred.
• Experience with hospital and KROLL systems an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Supports unit dose drug distribution and safe medication supply.
• Prepares sterile medications using aseptic technique.
• Maintains inventory and minimizes wastage in accordance with standards.
• Prepares, dispenses and documents controlled substances per policy.
• Liaises with healthcare team to ensure safe operation of the distribution system.
• Responds to priority calls and directs clinical questions to a pharmacist.
