Hospital-Based General Pediatrician - Child Protection Services Unit (CPSU)

Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine, BC Children's Hospital & UBC, Vancouver, BC

BC Children's Hospital & UBC Department of Pediatrics seek a Clinician Specialist to provide clinical and academic services within the Child & Family Clinic and CPSU.

Responsibilities
  1. Conduct medical assessments of children suspected of physical, sexual, or emotional maltreatment and serious neglect, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and the Ministry of Children and Family.
  2. Participate in teaching responsibilities related to child protection.
Qualifications
  • Strong commitment to academic hospital-based General Pediatrics.
  • Education, training, and experience equivalent to Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada specialty/sub-specialty credentials.
  • Eligibility for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
  • Exemplary clinical skills and effective family engagement in pediatric care.
  • Commitment to best practices and advancing knowledge in Pediatric Hospital Medicine.
  • PALS or equivalent certification.
Additional Information

Appointed as Clinical Faculty at UBC, with rank and salary based on qualifications and experience. Priority given to candidates with hospital-based practice commitment. Opportunities for skill development in quality improvement, education, and research. Start date: ASAP.
