The Child Protection Service Unit (CPSU) provides expert medical assessments for children in suspected maltreatment cases, working with a multidisciplinary team. Most evaluations occur at the Child & Family Clinic on-site at BC Children's Hospital. The CPSU also offers inpatient consultation services.

Position: Regular Part Time (minimum 0.4FTE)
Location: BC Children's Hospital & University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC
BC Children's Hospital & UBC Department of Pediatrics seek a Clinician Specialist to provide clinical and academic services within the CTU and CPSU.
Responsibilities include: Medical assessments of children suspected of maltreatment, working with a multidisciplinary team and the Ministry of Children and Family. Teaching responsibilities are also involved.
The candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to academic hospital-based General Pediatrics, with education, training, and experience equivalent to Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada credentials and eligibility for registration in the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC.
Applicants should possess exemplary clinical skills, effective family collaboration, and a commitment to best practices and advancing Pediatric Hospital Medicine knowledge.
The successful candidate will be appointed as Clinical Faculty at UBC, with rank and salary based on qualifications and experience. Priority is given to those committed to hospital-based practice and the outlined skills. Opportunities exist to develop skills in quality improvement, education, and research. PALS or equivalent certification is expected.
