Weir in Elliot Lake, ON is hiring a Hose Buff & Test Technician. The role focuses on preparing, finishing, and hydrostatically testing custom hoses used in mining and oil sands applications. Training is provided, with a future shift transition from day to night.

The candidate should be mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and eager to learn a highly specialized process. Prior hose testing is welcome but not required.

Qualifications

• Industrial manufacturing environment experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and handle manual tasks.
• Comfort with hand and power tools.
• Willingness to learn a specialized hose testing process.
• Able to read and follow engineering drawings or specs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cured industrial hoses for testing and finish surfaces.
• Operate grinders, power tools, and torque equipment.
• Install and remove test flanges and hardware.
• Conduct hydrostatic testing per engineering specs.
• Record hose expansion and testing results for QA.
• Operate forklifts and overhead cranes safely.
• Follow drawings, specs and work instructions.
• Assist with draining, painting, packaging, and shipping prep.
