Job summary

Position summary

Strathmore is looking for a Horticulture Site Manager to coordinate, supervise, and continuously improve the interior and exterior horticultural services for the properties under their responsibility.

This person acts as the central point of contact between the client, Strathmore, suppliers, and field teams. They are responsible for maintaining high standards of presentation, horticultural quality, operational follow-up, and supplier performance, while contributing to a polished and consistent client experience.

The role combines a strong field presence, horticultural expertise, organizational skills, and the ability to manage priorities, follow-ups, reports, suppliers, and improvement recommendations.

Main responsibilities

Interior Horticultural Management and Exterior Landscaping Monitoring

Supplier and Contractor Coordination
  • Act as the field point of contact with horticultural suppliers, landscapers, and other contractors related to the services under their responsibility.
  • Supervise interventions and measure supplier performance.
  • Document recurring issues, delays, non-compliance, or improvement opportunities.
  • Communicate expectations, corrective actions, and priorities clearly and professionally.
  • Support the evaluation of supplier performance and provide recommendations when necessary.
  • Ensure proactive communication with all stakeholders.
Operational Follow-Up, Reporting, and Continuous Improvement
  • Produce regular reports including inspections, plant condition, completed work, issues, before-and-after photos, and required follow-ups.
  • Maintain up-to-date maintenance records, plant follow-ups, supplier interventions, and recommendations.
  • Participate in follow-up meetings or business reviews with clients and internal teams.
  • Monitor performance indicators, including work compliance, correction timelines, supplier performance, and adherence to schedules.
  • Propose continuous improvements to optimize quality, budgets, planning, and the client experience.
  • Document actions, follow-ups, and recommendations rigorously.
Project and Planning Support
  • Participate in the planning of seasonal projects, horticultural replacements, landscaping improvements, and special initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development of recommendations based on field realities.
  • Anticipate seasonal needs and recurring issues.
  • Adapt interventions according to peak periods, events, special projects, and client priorities.
  • Collaborate with Strathmore teams to ensure smooth, consistent execution aligned with expected standards.
Profile
  • Education in horticulture, floriculture, landscaping, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in commercial, institutional, real estate, or high-visibility horticultural environments.
  • Good knowledge of indoor and outdoor ornamental plants adapted to the Quebec climate.
  • Experience coordinating suppliers, monitoring contracts, or supervising field work is a strong asset.
  • Ability to inspect work, identify deficiencies, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Strong aesthetic sense, attention to detail, and high quality standards.
  • Excellent autonomy, sound professional judgment, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to write clear reports and document follow-ups.
  • Good communication skills in French; functional English is an asset.
  • Comfortable using digital tools, photo reports, tracking tables, or operational management platforms.
  • Valid driver’s licence required.
