Job summary

A community care provider in British Columbia is seeking casual kaimahi for weekend work. Responsibilities include supervising personal cares and conducting welfare checks. Applicants should have a Level 2, 3, or 4 Health and Wellbeing Certificate and a reliable vehicle, along with a commitment to community connection with whānau. Training will be provided. Competitive hourly rate plus travel allowance offered.

Job description

We are looking for casual kaimahi who can work on the weekends.

Most cares are provided between the hours of 8am to 11am and 4pm to 6pm. There are some welfare checks and medication supervision during the middle of the day (including travel time).

You will need your own reliable vehicle to travel from client to client and you are paid a competitive hourly rate plus a travel allowance which covers your travel expenses and the time it takes to travel between clients.

We use Carecall and Remote worker for rostering, whanau care plans and timesheets. A reasonable level of computer and technology skills is required as we use email, Mobile phones and Apps. Full training on Care Call will be provided.

About You:

We are looking for applicants who have:

  • Having a Level 2, 3 or 4 Health and Wellbeing Certificate is an advantage, as is experience in Hoist training
  • Full Drivers License
  • Own reliable vehicle
  • Excellent reliability and work ethic
  • Understanding of Tikanga and Te Reo Māori or willingness to learn
  • Enthusiasm, energy, initiative and a high degree of flexibility
  • Whakawhānaungatanga - able to make connections with the whānau we work with
