Rotation Calendar:

Week 1: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (0800-1630), with days off as indicated.

Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Resource Coordinator or designate, the Home Support Worker assists with basic supportive care as part of the healthcare team, demonstrating commitment to the Employer's vision, values, and goals.

Experience

  • Previous experience with housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation preferred.

Education

  • Minimum Grade 10 education, Manitoba standards, required.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Valid Manitoba Class 5 driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, and willingness to travel year-round.
  • Food Handler’s Certificate may be required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to perform all relevant duties, organize workload, recognize self-development opportunities, and communicate effectively in English. Knowledge of Indigenous customs and French language skills are assets.

Physical Requirements

  • May involve exposure to aggressive individuals, disease, blood, body fluids, pests, radiation, toxic materials, noise, allergens, residual smoke, pets, and pet dander.
  • Requires physical activities like standing, transferring, transporting patients, and handling equipment up to 20kg.
  • Must be able to work shifts, including weekends, and travel between client homes.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check. The successful candidate is responsible for any service charges. Checks are valid if obtained within six months prior to employment.

Note: An employee cannot hold multiple positions within WRHA that total more than 1.0 EFT across all entities.
