Job summary

Next Youth Job is seeking a responsible caregiver to provide personal support for our elderly mother in Vaughan, Ontario. The position requires full-time availability and includes meal preparation, personal care, and light housekeeping duties.

Candidates with a Secondary School Certificate and related courses in home support are preferred. A vulnerable sector check is required, and public transportation is available for commuting. Optional live-in accommodation is offered at no charge.

Description

We are looking for one responsible caregiver to help take care of our elderly mother in Woodbridge, ON.

Work in employer’s/client’s home; public transportation is available; willing to travel; optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis (this is not a condition of employment).

• Terms of employment: Full time, Permanent, Day, Evening, Flexible
• Wage: $21 per hour @ 30–44 hours per week
• Education: Secondary (high) School Certificate; college or other courses related to home support
• Work experience: 6 months preferred; vulnerable sector check required
• Languages: English

Job Duties

• Administer bedside and personal care
• Assume full responsibility for household in absence of householder
• Assist with feeding and nursing diets; plan therapeutic diets and menus
• Shop for food and household supplies
• Provide companionship
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
• Assist with bathing and other personal hygiene
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals
