Job summary

Private Individual in Vancouver seeks a home support worker to care for an adult with a physical disability. The role is 30 hours per week, split into two shifts per day from Monday to Friday, with on-site work at the client’s home.

The ideal candidate will have a health services-related education and caregiver credentials, plus experience in personal care, medication administration, and companionship. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Education in health services or related field.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid preferred.
• Experience in home support or caregiving is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Care for client's pets.
• Administer medications as prescribed.
• Assist client with bathing and personal hygiene.
• Assist with regular exercise, e.g., walking.
• Perform light housekeeping and laundry.
• Provide companionship and daily living assistance.
• Shop for groceries and prepare nutritious meals.

A private individual is seeking a home support worker to care for an adult with a physical disability for 30 hours per week, split over two shifts per day (Mon-Fri).

Education

• College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
• Health services/allied health/health sciences, general

Experience

• 7 months to less than 1 year

On site

• Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Tasks

• Care for pets
• Administer medications
• Assist clients in water (i.e. pool)
• Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene

• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
• Provide companionship
