What you’ll do (the highlights)
As a location supervisor, you will lead a team providing direct support to people in one of our community homes.
What that looks like :
- Working a flexible schedule depending on the need and including : Direct support shifts weekdays, 3pm - 11pm and administrative shifts weekdays, 9am - 5pm On-call Monday to Thursday (7am - 11pm) and Friday (7am - 5pm) and available on-site in urgent situations.
- Receiving support and guidance from your program manager.
- Making sure your team keeps the home environment clean, safe, and comfortable.
- Performing personal care duties, including lifts and transfers.
- Communicating regularly with the program manager, team members, families and other DASCH departments.
- Using online systems for coordination and documentation.
- Coordinating weekly activities and supporting people at DASCH in pursuing personal and social opportunities.
- Advocating for people at DASCH when needed, keeping their best interests in mind.
- Acting as a role model for your direct support team members and the people living at DASCH as you promote their independence and decision-making with respect and care.
- Training new team members and documenting their progress.
- Completing audits, checks, drills and reports.
- Providing motivation, supervision, and leadership to the direct support team, fostering respectful and effective working relationships.
What you bring (and why you’ll thrive here)
DASCH team members are special. They have a mix of the right personal characteristics and specific skills for their work.
- Minimum two years of supervisory experience, demonstrating leadership skills and effective team management. (Preferred)
- Experience with intellectual disabilities or a certificate in Disability and Community Support, Health Care Aide, or a related field is helpful.
- A Class 5 Manitoba Driver’s License (Intermediate Stage acceptable).
- Access to a vehicle during shifts and on-call hours in case of urgent situations.
- Ability to use technology and Microsoft platforms (Preferred).
