Qualifications

Experience caring for seniors is preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare nutritious meals and snacks.
Assist with grocery shopping and meal planning.
Light housekeeping and laundry.

About the Role

We are looking for a kind, compassionate, and dependable live-in Companion/Home Support person to assist an independent 81-year-old gentleman in West Vancouver. This is not a high medical-needs position. He is cognitively sharp, enjoys conversation, and is able to manage many aspects of daily life independently. His primary challenge is mobility due to severe osteoarthritis in his knees, so he benefits from someone who can provide support with day-to-day routines, encourage an active lifestyle, and offer companionship. The ideal candidate enjoys building meaningful relationships with seniors and takes pride in helping someone maintain their independence while improving their quality of life.

Responsibilities

Prepare nutritious meals and snacks
Assist with grocery shopping and meal planning
Light housekeeping and laundry
Medication reminders
Encourage hydration and healthy daily routines
Accompany to medical appointments and community outings
Encourage walks, light exercise, and mobility
Provide companionship, conversation, and social engagement
Help monitor general wellbeing and communicate any concerns to family
Assist with organizing the home and daily schedule
Occasional assistance with errands
