Wages: $19.00 CAD per hour
Duration of Job: Full time, Permanent
Main duties
• Supervise children at all times to stay aware of their physical and emotional needs and to maintain their constant safety.
• Plan, prepare and serve meals for children and perform other related housekeeping duties
• Oversee children’s activities, such as meals and rest periods, as instructed by parents
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
• Instruct children in personal hygiene
• Tend to the emotional well-being of children and support their social development
• Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents
• Provide age-appropriate educational training through organized activities such as games, crafts, reading and outings
• Take children to and from school, appointments and after school activities
• Keep records of daily activities and health information regarding each child.
• Accompany children to the community center, library, park, and other places as required.
• Watches for any signs of behavioural or emotional problems in children and alerts parents to the problems.
• Perform other related duties as required.
Employment requirements
• Completion of secondary school is required.
• Completion of relevant education or training program as a care provider or previous experience in a similar role.
• First aid certification is required.
