Job description

Working as an integral part of the Yúustway Health and Wellness Department, the Home Care Nurse Assessor promotes a culturally safe, supportive, and empowering environment for Nation Members, clients, families, colleagues, and partners. The role aligns with the Vision, Mission, and Values, as well as the strategic directions of the Squamish Nation and Yúustway’s 10 Year Community Health Plan.

The Nurse Assessor preferably has experience working with First Nations communities and a solid understanding and application of Indigenous Cultural Safety. Reporting directly to the Manager, Home and Community Care, the Nurse Assessor is a registered nurse responsible for assessment, supervision, and clinical nursing skills to coordinate client care effectively for the Squamish Nation Community.

The incumbent provides guidance to Health Care Assistants (HCAs) and Homemakers, maintains accurate records of client assessments, manages assessment files, and develops relationships with external service providers for advocacy and referrals. They also review and evaluate client satisfaction regarding home care services and support a holistic approach to care as an Indigenous service provider.

Salary : $48.31 - $54.89 per hour, plus comprehensive benefits.
