NSC Staffing is seeking a Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (H&ME) Lead/Foreman for an exciting opportunity to lead technical teams in shipboard alterations, maintenance, and installations. This role is ideal for experienced professionals passionate about managing teams, overseeing ship alterations, and ensuring high-quality work in compliance with NAVSEA specifications. Position Overview:
As a Maritime Foreman, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing Alteration Installation Team (AIT) work on U.S. Navy ships. You will oversee technical operations, coordinate resources, ensure quality assurance, and enforce safety standards. This position requires strong leadership, shipboard system expertise, and the ability to manage personnel and project timelines effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead shipboard technical teams to accomplish AIT-related tasks in compliance with NAVSEA Technical Specification 9090-310, NAVSEA Standard Items, and approved work procedures.
  • Plan and coordinate tools, materials, personnel, subcontractors, and other resources to execute ship alterations efficiently.
  • Perform and oversee testing procedures, including Pre-Installation Checkouts (PICO) and System Operability Verification Tests (SOVT).
  • Manage modifications, repairs, overhauls, fabrication, testing, and operation of shipboard mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Supervise maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections, and ensure proper documentation and reporting.
  • Prepare reports, daily status updates, and documentation on work progress, delays, and quality control measures.
  • Ensure compliance with QMS, OSHA, NAVSEA Standard Items, and safety protocols.
  • Train and mentor technicians, ensuring personnel qualifications align with job requirements.
  • Act as a liaison between contractor employees and Ship’s Force personnel to facilitate project coordination.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Extensive knowledge of U.S. Navy shipboard Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E) systems.
  • Experience in ship alterations, maintenance, upgrades, and system installations.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications, blueprints, and NAVSEA Standard Items.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to plan, schedule, and execute projects while ensuring quality control.
  • Experience conducting shipboard system tests, validations, and troubleshooting.
  • Must be able to obtain security clearance; prior clearance is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in challenging environments.
  • Willingness to travel and support operations as needed.
