About the Sequel

The Sequel - Restaurant and Kitchen is excited to announce its grand opening this Spring in the vibrant neighborhood of Coal Harbour Downtown. Nestled among breathtaking tourist attractions, shopping destinations, and a bustling community of offices and condos, our restaurant is set to become a culinary gem in the area.

As the sister restaurant to the highly successful The Story Cafe in Richmond, The Sequel brings the same commitment to high-quality food and exceptional service in a fast-paced, casual fine dining atmosphere. We are seeking an experienced, motivated individual with a passion for hospitality and a collaborative spirit to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Take customer orders accurately and efficiently
2. Serve food and beverages with attention to detail and presentation
3. Set up and clean up dining area before, during, and after service
4. Use POS system to process orders, handle cash, and manage card transactions
5. Perform basic cash-out duties, ensuring accuracy in counting and balancing
6. Answer phones and take take-out orders by phone and through delivery apps
7. Manage tablet system for organizing walk-in and reservation seating
8. Greet, seat, and engage customers to ensure a positive dining experience
9. Assist with general restaurant operations and work collaboratively with the team to maintain a high level of service

Requirements:

1. Previous 2 years experience in a serving role (professional serving skills are a must)
2. Strong communication and customer service skills
3. Ability to multitask in a busy environment
4. Must be reliable, punctual, and maintain a positive attitude
5. Knowledge of POS systems and cash handling procedures is a plus
6. Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident preferred, if work permit - must be able to work more than 6 months
7. Intermediate knowledge of wine (WSET is an asset)
