Hiring an Experienced Breakfast/Host Supervisor

As a Breakfast Supervisor, you are authorized to exceed guest expectations and maximize revenue each shift. You will support all Breakfast employees in making business decisions focused on upholding the highest standards in guest service while achieving key financial goals and performance metrics for the department. Your support will include assisting in new hire training, ongoing coaching, providing daily feedback, and leading by example.

Some of a Breakfast Attendant's duties include:

  1. Welcoming each guest as they enter the breakfast room by making eye contact and verbally acknowledging them.
  2. Preparing for your shift with a well-stocked pantry, complete with dry and fresh items, and ensuring all stations on the breakfast bar are set up, coffee is brewed, and hot items are prepared for breakfast hours.
  3. Maintaining cleanliness in food prep and service areas, ensuring all equipment is in good working order, and reporting deficiencies immediately to your supervisor.
  4. Responding to guest complaints by understanding and resolving issues before the guest departs.
  5. Developing and maintaining positive relationships and communication with team members to reach shared goals.

Working Conditions

Breakfast Attendants have significant impact as they are in constant contact with guests and influence the overall guest experience. They spend most of their time on their feet and must respond quickly in fast-paced, noisy environments.

  • Long periods of standing and guest interaction.
  • Early morning shifts any day of the week or weekend.
  • Periods of working alone.
  • Temperature changes from back of house to front of house.
  • Working under pressure to serve guests efficiently.
  • Continuous physical movement during work hours.

Skills required include excellent communication, multi-tasking, organization, attention to detail, and the ability to produce accurate work and provide excellent guest service. Good listening and comprehension skills are essential.
