Job summary

Royal Heights Esso in Estevan, SK is seeking a Retail Sales Supervisor to lead cashiers and sales staff, plan schedules, and ensure smooth daily operations in a busy gas station environment.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, processing payments, resolving customer issues, maintaining inventory and merchandising standards, and reporting on sales and personnel matters. Strong English communication is essential, with 30–40 hours weekly and a competitive wage.

Qualifications

• Completion of secondary school is required.
• Previous work experience in a gas station, convenience store, retail store, or similar customer-service and retail environment is required.
• Two to three years of previous supervisory experience in a gas station, convenience store, retail store, or similar environment is considered a strong asset.
• Proficiency in English is required.
• Strong communication, organizational, customer-service, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to supervise staff, coordinate daily operations, and work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of cashiers and other retail sales staff.
• Assign duties to workers and prepare work schedules.
• Authorize payments and returns of merchandise in accordance with company policies.
• Resolve customer requests, complaints, and other operational issues, including supply shortages.
• Maintain specified inventory levels and order merchandise as required.
• Prepare reports regarding sales volumes, merchandising activities, and personnel matters.
• Train or arrange for the training of new sales staff and monitor and report on their performance.
• Ensure that the store’s visual standards and overall appearance are maintained, including displays, signage, cleanliness, and organization.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including cash-handling and customer-service procedures.
• May perform the same duties as workers supervised when required.
• May perform key-holding and other managerial duties as required, including opening and closing the store, handling escalated customer complaints, coordinating deliveries, and assisting with day-to-day store operations.

Working Conditions

• Full-time, permanent position
• 30–40 hours per week
• Wage: $21.00 per hour
• 15 days of paid vacation per year or 5.77% vacation pay
• Flexible working hours, including early morning, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts, may be required according to the operational needs of the business.
• The position requires working in a busy gas station and retail environment and may involve prolonged periods of standing and interaction with customers and staff.
