Job summary

Fowler Construction Company Limited is seeking licensed AZ or DZ drivers for winter snow plow, spreader, and combo units across Ontario. The role requires safe operation, pre-trip checks, and coordination with supervisors to maintain winter highway operations.

Candidates should have a valid license and CVOR, with assets for OTM Book 7 and highway maintenance experience preferred. Expect flexible hours and on-site work in varied weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Must hold and maintain a valid AZ or DZ driver’s license and clean CVOR.
• OTM Book 7 Training is considered an asset.
• Experience in highway maintenance and plowing is considered an asset.
• High commitment to personal safety and safety of others.
• Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a spreader, plow wing, or combo unit for winter highway maintenance.
• Perform pre-trip inspections, document fuel usage, and maintain winter operations records.
• Operate and maintain heavy equipment such as loaders, backhoes, and skid steers.
• Use light-duty tools as required and conduct routine equipment maintenance.
• Follow all regulations, safety protocols, and contractual requirements.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure efficient operations.
• Report any incidents, accidents, or traffic violations immediately.

Fowler is searching for licensed AZ or DZ drivers to operate tandem or triaxle snow plow, or combination plow/spreader units, for the winter season.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a spreader, plow wing, or combo unit for winter highway maintenance
• Perform pre-trip inspections, document fuel usage, and maintain accurate winter operations records
• Operate and maintain heavy equipment, including loaders, backhoes, and skid steers
• Use light-duty tools such as steamers, chainsaws, and gas-powered hand tools as required
• Conduct routine equipment maintenance and minor repairs as needed
• Follow all regulations, safety protocols, and contractual requirements
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure efficient operations
• Report any incidents, accidents, or traffic violations immediately

Position Requirements

• Must hold and maintain a valid AZ or DZ driver’s license and clean CVOR.
• OTM Book 7 Training is considered an asset.
• Experience in highway maintenance and plowing is considered an asset.
• A high commitment to personal safety and the safety of others.
• Must be capable of self-loading the truck (training will be provided).
• Strong work ethic, reliable and highly motivated.
• Must be able to work with little supervision.
• Be capable of communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing, in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to stand, lift 50 lbs., carry, bend, reach, climb.
