Job summary

Department of Transportation and Infrastructure in New Brunswick is seeking an Operation Worker I to perform highway maintenance and construction tasks across the Lamèque district. The role requires operating heavy equipment, winter plowing, and ensuring road safety under varied conditions.

Applicants must have a Grade 10, at least 1 year of relevant experience, and a NB Class 3 license with air brakes. French language competence is required; one-person plow certification is an asset.)

Qualifications

• Completion of grade ten (10).
• Minimum of one year experience operating heavy construction equipment.
• Valid Class 3 driver's license with endorsement for air brakes (NB).
• Written and spoken competence in French is required.

Responsibilities

• Performing highway maintenance and construction work.
• Operate and maintain light construction equipment and associated records.
• Plow during winter operations and perform related maintenance tasks.
• Ensure roads are safe for public use by plowing and applying sand and salt.
