Job summary

Oxford Learning Nepean in Ottawa, Ontario seeks a part‑time high school math teacher/tutor to work after school and some Saturdays. You’ll teach up to three students at a time, with pre-planned lessons and full training in our methods.

Pay is $18.50–$19.00 per hour, and the role is in-person. The position requires after‑school availability (Mon–Thu 3:45 pm–8:00 pm) and some Saturday mornings, with a term‑end commitment preferred.

High School Math Teacher/Tutor Wanted

We are seeking a part‑time teacher‑tutor at Oxford Learning Nepean, Ottawa, Ontario.

Pay: $18.50–$19.00 per hour.

In this role, you will not need to lesson plan – all lessons are pre‑planned. You will receive full training in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Position Requirements

All teacher‑tutors work after‑school and evening hours: at least twice per week (Mon‑Thu 3:45 pm–8:00 pm) and some Saturday mornings (9:00 am–12:00 pm). A commitment until the end of the term in June is preferred; continuing through the summer is even better. Reliable attendance is a must.

Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory. Applicants must reside in or within a short commute of the Nepean area.

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field
  • Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
  • Teaching certification is an asset
  • Good knowledge of Grades 9‑12 math curriculum, especially senior math (advanced functions, algebra, trigonometry, calculus, vectors)
Experience
  • Experience teaching/tutoring math at Grade 9‑12 (or equivalent) level
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills
  • Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
  • Ability to multitask and work with up to three students simultaneously
