Job summary

Oxford Learning Port Credit is seeking a part-time high school math and science teacher-tutor to support after-school and evening sessions at our Mississauga location. Compensation is $18–$20 per hour; duties include teaching up to three students, completing post-lesson notes, and following Oxford Learning methodologies.

Evening hours 3:30–7 pm, some Saturdays, in-person at Lakeshore Rd East, Port Credit commuting required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or certification in a relevant field.
  • Fourth-year university students with tutoring experience considered.
  • Teaching certification is an asset.
  • Thorough knowledge of Grades 9–12 math & science curriculum (Advanced Functions, Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, Vectors, Physics, Chemistry, Biology).

Responsibilities

  • Teach up to 3 students at once at different levels.
  • Follow Oxford Learning methodologies.
  • Complete post-lesson notes and daily communications.
  • Maintain friendly, professional manner.

Job description

High School Math & Science Teacher/Tutor

Oxford Learning Port Credit is looking for part‑time teacher‑tutors for high school math and science.

Employment type: Part Time. Pay: $18–$20 per hour. Hours: after‑school and evening (3:30‑7 pm), some Saturdays (11 am–2:30 pm). Location: in‑person at 347 Lakeshore Rd East, Unit 5, Mississauga. Requires commute to Port Credit; relocation packages not available.

Position Requirements
  • Work during after‑school and evening hours; commitment to end of term (June) preferred.
  • Must be a reliable, punctual, and able to teach up to 3 students.
  • Must pass vulnerable sector screening.
  • Pre‑planned lessons; no planning required.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
  • Fourth‑year university students with tutoring experience considered.
  • Teaching certification is an asset.
  • Thorough knowledge of Grades 9–12 math & science curriculum (Advanced Functions, Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, Vectors, Physics, Chemistry, Biology).
Experience
  • Experience teaching/tutoring math/sci at Grade 9–12 level.
  • Strong written and oral English communication skills.
  • Strong math skills to guide student understanding.
  • Ability to multitask and support up to three students.
