Job summary

Prep Academy Tutors seeks in-home, in-person tutors for High School Math, Physics and Chemistry across Aurora, Richmond Hill and Markham. The ideal candidate loves teaching, is passionate about student success, and can craft engaging, personalized lessons aligned with the Ontario secondary Math & Sciences curriculum (Grades 9–12).

Qualified applicants will have tutoring or teaching experience in Math, Physics, or Chemistry, enjoy in-home instruction, and be comfortable supporting students online

Qualifications

• Experience tutoring or teaching high school Math, Physics or Chemistry.
• Comfort providing in-home, in-person instruction; online as needed.
• Familiarity with the Ontario secondary Math & Sciences curriculum (Grades 9–12) is essential.
• Willingness to travel to students' homes in Aurora, Richmond Hill & Markham areas.

Responsibilities

• Empower students with personalized academic support aligned with the Ontario Math & Sciences curriculum (Physics, Chemistry, Biology).
• Help students strengthen understanding of STEM units and provide practice materials.
• Prepare students for classroom assessments, labs and exams.
• Develop customized lesson plans that promote understanding, confidence, and growth.
• Provide remedial support and enrichment opportunities as needed.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and goals.

We are looking for in-home, in-person High School Math, Physics & Chemistry Tutors to support students throughout Aurora, Richmond Hill & Markham. The ideal candidate is passionate about teaching, committed to student success, and skilled at creating engaging, personalized learning experiences.

Qualified candidates will have experience tutoring or teaching high school Math, Physics or Chemistry and be comfortable providing in-home, in-person instruction, with the option to support students online as needed. Familiarity with the Ontario secondary Math & Sciences curriculum (Grades 9–12) is essential.

As a Prep Academy Tutor, You Will:

• Empower students with personalized academic support aligned with the Ontario secondary Math & Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) curriculum.
• Help students strengthen their understanding of the applicable STEM units, review major concepts and offer practice material where needed to ensure understanding and application is concurrent with what the student is learning in class.
• Prepare students for classroom assessments, culminating assignments, labs and exams.
• Develop customized lesson plans that promote deep understanding, confidence, and academic growth.
• Provide both remedial support for struggling students and enrichment opportunities for those seeking advanced challenges.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, goals, and areas for improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience teaching or tutoring high school Math (9-12), General Science (9-10), Physics 11 & 12, Chemistry 11 & 12
• Strong knowledge of the Ontario Secondary School Math & Sciences curriculum.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to students' homes in Aurora, Richmond Hill, Markham areas.
• A passion for helping students build confidence, improve academic performance, and develop lifelong literacy skills.
