Job summary

Grande Prairie Public School Division invites applications for a High School Educational Assistant. This full-time temporary role is effective immediately through June 2027.

The Educational Assistant works under the supervision of a certified teacher who retains responsibility for planning, instruction, supervision and evaluation of the students. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, an Educational Assistant Diploma with CPR/First Aid preferred, and experience with children

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required or preferred
• Educational Assistant Diploma with CPR/First Aid preferred
• NVCI training preferred
• Some experience working with children in organized settings preferred
• Experience with students who exhibit challenging behaviors is an asset

Responsibilities

• Works under supervision of a certified teacher who retains responsibility for planning, instruction, supervision and evaluation of students
• Supports daily activities, supervision and safety of students
• Assists with routines, personal care and classroom tasks as directed by the teacher
