Job summary

Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) seeks a Temporary Part-Time Educational Assistant at Hythe Regional School. This 17.5 hours/week role supports students under the supervision of a certificated teacher.

Required qualifications include a High School Diploma; Educational Assistant Diploma preferred; CPR/First Aid is a plus; experience with children in classrooms is preferred; must be able to perform physical tasks and assist with personal care; able to meet outside school hours and work

Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) provides service to approximately 6,100 students in Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12 in 34 schools and is one of the largest employers in the Grande Prairie/Spirit River region. HYTHE REGIONAL SCHOOL is seeking candidates who enjoy working in a student-focused and collaborative environment. We invite applications for a Temporary Part-Time Educational Assistant (17.5 hours/week). The Educational Assistant works under the supervision of a certificated teacher.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Educational Assistant Diploma is preferred
• CPR/First Aid would be considered an asset
• Experience working with children in a classroom/organized setting is preferred
• You have the ability and willingness to perform required physical tasks, as well as assist with personal care.
• You have the ability to meet outside of school hours.
• You have the ability to work as part of a team.

Terms and conditions of employment are outlined in Policy GGG: Personnel Policy for Non-Teaching Staff. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $21.28/hour to $28.02/hour.
