What You’ll Do
  • Investigate and negotiate Ovation and RBC High Net Worth / RBC Private Insurance auto and property claims in accordance with Aviva’s standard methodologies and handling procedures
  • Responsible for the issuance of payments to vendors, customers, and experts
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of data collected in Aviva systems
  • Analyze estimates, value of claims, negotiate, and settle claims accordingly
  • Interpret and apply Aviva Ovation high net worth personal policy coverage related to the loss
  • Communicate policy coverage and benefits to customers
  • Investigate and document cause of loss and quantum
  • Work in a low-volume phone queue environment as a first responder for Ovation policyholders and brokers
  • Review, comment on, and approve vendor estimates for repairs or replacements
  • Maintain relationships with internal and external partners involved in claims management
  • Acquire and maintain appropriate provincial adjuster licenses and fulfill continuing education requirements, where required
  • Manage customer relationships and outcomes on claims of varying quantum and complexity
  • Determine when fieldwork is necessary and coordinate the required resources
  • React early to exposures and recovery opportunities during storm and disaster events
  • Understand financial elements of property claims to ensure financial strength and business performance improvements
  • Identify and report suspicions of fraud or financial irregularities
  • Continuously improve customer experience, indemnity, and expense management
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and legislative requirements
What You’ll Bring
  • Minimum 4+ years of first-party claims handling experience focusing on property claims; auto claims experience is an asset
  • Prior high net worth / VIP or specialty market claims experience preferred
  • Experience with CoreLogic, Xactanalysis, Xactimate, Audatex, Edjuster, Guidewire ClaimCenter
  • Industry designations such as CIP or FCIP or other relevant professional insurance qualifications
  • University Degree, College Diploma, or equivalent property technical work experience
  • Strong technical competence in personal insurance
  • Experience handling VIP / high net worth, Private Client claims
  • Basic property claims scoping and estimating knowledge
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, respectful and compassionate communication, effective listening
  • Computer proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Bilingualism is an asset
  • Adjusting licenses for Quebec and Atlantic provinces are assets
