Altera in Toronto is seeking a High Level Synthesis Engineer intern to contribute to the development and maintenance of our HLS compiler infrastructure. You will work on compiler passes, code transformations, and optimization of the C/C++ to hardware workflow within a cutting-edge FPGA/SoC environment.

You will gain mentorship from experienced hardware engineers, participate in debugging and validation, and have opportunities for professional growth as part of a supportive team in a dynamic tech

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field with expected graduation soon.
• Academic or project experience with C/C++ programming.
• Exposure to compiler concepts (parsing, code generation, optimization).
• Familiarity with MLIR/LLVM/Clang and HLS tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining HLS compiler infrastructure.
• Support compiler passes and code transformations for hardware synthesis.
• Analyze and improve C/C++ to HDL compilation flow.
• Collaborate with engineers and participate in debugging and testing.
• Document work and contribute to internal knowledge bases.
