Job description

Heritage Calgary is seeking a visionary and collaborative Executive Director to lead the organization in advancing its mission to identify, preserve, and promote Calgary’s diverse and evolving heritage. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will serve as the face of the organization and a champion for heritage in Calgary, shaping the city’s cultural landscape through strategic leadership, operational excellence, and meaningful partnerships.

The Executive Director will be responsible for successfully executing Heritage Calgary’s strategic plan, including the stewardship of its programs, finances, and relationships with the City of Calgary and other key partners. This dynamic leadership role requires strong governance acumen, deep community engagement, and a passion for civic pride and inclusion.
As the organization’s senior leader, the Executive Director will oversee a small team of dedicated professionals and contracted resources. They will also play a critical role in building awareness of Calgary’s heritage and articulating its social, cultural, and economic value to a broad range of audiences.
