The position involves responsibilities in caring for both benign and malignant hematology patients, with the specific balance determined in collaboration with the team.

Our hematologists are eligible for a clinical appointment in the Division of Oncology, College of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan, and participate in teaching medical students and residents at undergraduate and graduate levels.

Education:
  • Degree in Medicine with subspecialty training in internal medicine and hematology.
  • Preferred candidates will have obtained or be in the final stages of obtaining certification in internal medicine and hematology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or possess equivalent education, training, and experience.
Experience:
  • Experience in benign and malignant hematology is considered an asset.
  • Experience in cellular therapy in hematology is considered an asset.
Credentials:
  • Must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan.
  • Must be eligible for membership and privileges with the Saskatchewan Health Authority in Saskatoon.
Other Requirements:
  • Eligible for Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) coverage or equivalent.
  • Criminal record check.
  • Written and verbal fluency in English.
About the Employer

The Saskatchewan Cancer Agency leads in health promotion, early detection, treatment, and research for cancer. It operates two treatment centers: the Allan Blair Cancer Centre in Regina and the Saskatoon Cancer Centre in Saskatoon. The provincial hematology program focuses on diagnosing and treating patients with benign and malignant hematological conditions, including autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplants at our Saskatoon location. The CAR-T cellular therapy program is active at this site.

A competitive compensation package is offered, commensurate with experience. Salary ranges from $387,661 to $500,281, plus benefits. Additional incentives and relocation packages are available.
