Job summary

Glass House Ventures Inc. is seeking a full-time Helper to assist with various projects in Vancouver, BC. The position offers comprehensive training with no prior experience required, along with a supportive work environment focused on safety and career growth.

Responsibilities include assisting tradesmen, transporting materials, and maintaining safe work sites. Salary starts at $25.00 per hour, with overtime and vacation pay as per employment standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist tradesmen by supplying tools and materials needed for projects.
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials to and from work sites.
  • Prepare work sites by setting up decontamination units.
  • Set up and dismantle temporary containment structures and signage.
  • Keep the work site clean and safe by removing contaminated debris.
  • Prepare surfaces for work by cleaning them.
  • Maintain clear communication with team members and report hazards.
  • Follow tradesmen’s instructions for mixing and spreading materials.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and procedures.
  • Maintain and care for construction equipment.
  • Participate in pre-job safety meetings and debriefs.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Work Location: Various locations across Lower Mainland, BC.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist tradesmen by supplying tools, equipment, and materials needed for asbestos abatement, mold remediation, and vermiculite insulation removal projects.
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials to and from our work sites.
  • Prepare work sites by setting up decontamination units and sealing off affected areas with polyethylene sheeting.
  • Set up and dismantle temporary containment structures, scaffolding, barricades, and warning signage required for safe hazardous material removal projects.
  • Keep the work site clean and safe by removing contaminated debris, rubble, and hazardous waste materials.
  • Prepare surfaces for work by cleaning and ensuring they are ready for work.
  • Foster a collaborative and safety‑conscious work environment by maintaining clear communication with team members and reporting hazards or concerns immediately.
  • Follow tradesmen’s instructions to mix, pour, and spread materials accurately.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and procedures at all times.
  • Maintain and care for construction equipment, cleaning and safely storing it after each work shift.
  • Participate in pre‑job safety meetings and team debriefs to discuss project progress, address site hazards, and coordinate upcoming remediation tasks.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the safe and efficient completion of projects.
