Job summary

The Alpine Club of Canada is seeking a Fairy Meadow Staging Manager (Casual) to oversee helicopter staging operations at Fairy Meadow, near Sorcerer Lodge. You will ensure safety, coordinate guest flow, and liaise with pilots and ground crew during transfer days.

You will brief guests on waivers, manage snow removal and hazard checks, and uphold WHMIS and OH&S standards in a remote backcountry setting, typically working one day per transfer day.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of helicopter ground operations and staging safety.
• Clear, confident guest briefings, including waiver explanations.
• Excellent communication with guests, pilots, and ground crew.
• Ability to work in remote backcountry and handle time pressure.

Responsibilities

• Site preparation: ensure staging area is safe and ready for arrivals.
• Waivers and guest orientation: lead waiver discussion and obtain signatures.
• Guest and gear coordination: guide parking, group assignments, and gear loading/unloading.
• Working with pilots and ground crew: liaise with pilots, report weather, ensure safety around aircraft.
• Safety and compliance: uphold WHMIS and OH&S procedures and represent ACC professionally.
