Job description

Our customer, a major oil and gas producer, is looking for a Heavy Oil Field Operator to join their team in the Athabasca, Alberta area. Camp will be provided for the right candidates. This position is on a 7/7 rotation, 12-hour shifts. A crew shuttle is available from Edmonton area and Athabasca to site.

Additional requirements include:

  • 2+ years experience with heavy oil and/or field operations; willing to train the right candidate
  • Post-secondary education focused on the petroleum industry is preferred
  • Knowledge of SCADA, PCP pumps, polymer flood process is an asset
  • Valid oilfield safety tickets (H2S Alive, Standard First Aid) are required
  • Clean driver’s abstract; must be comfortable driving a truck off-highway
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test
  • Strong attention to detail, disciplined work ethic, and the ability to take initiative as well as accept direction
  • Capable of working both in a team and individually
