Position Overview:

NCSG Hauling & Rigging is looking for a Heavy Haul Planner who will assist the Branch Manager with the day-to-day operations of our Calgary branch. This will include responding to customer requests and facilitating dispatch, permits, safety, and compliance. The Heavy Haul Planner will act as the branch’s liaison between the customer and operations to ensure customer needs are met through preparation of quotations through to execution and completion.

Your success will be defined by your ability to:

• Plan and execute mobilization and demobilization of drivers and equipment to achieve optimum utilization of resources to meet customers’ needs.
• Initiate the permit application process for oversized loads.
• Promote business and work closely with all area clientele including existing and potential clients.
• Schedule assignments and coordinate activities for our vehicles, drivers, and crews.
• Ensure dispatch is communicated to drivers effectively through phone, email, and text.
• Manage, motivate, and hold drivers accountable to meet hours of service and compliance requirements.
• Work closely with maintenance crew to schedule and meet service requirements.
• Ensure operational toolbox meetings are attended by personnel and occasionally lead the topics of discussion.
• Work with HS&E and lead by example to ensure corporate culture of safety compliance is maintained by all personnel.
• Stay informed of developments and changes in service delivery techniques and methods.
• Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of heavy haul and trucking experience in a similar role.
• Outstanding leadership and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational, strategic, planning, and implementing skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey information to a variety of audiences.
• Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation.
• Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Computer skills in the use of Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.
