Job description

Adecco is actively building a talent pipeline for upcoming heavy equipment maintenance projects in Kamloops and nearby regions. We are seeking certified Heavy Equipment Technicians with hands-on experience servicing a broad range of heavy equipment, both in-shop and in the field. If you're a safety-conscious, detail-oriented tradesperson looking to be part of high-impact industrial projects-this opportunity is for you!

  • Pay Rate: $50.00 - $62.00 per hour, based on experience
  • Location: Kamloops, BC
  • Job type: Permanent | Full-time

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain a mobile service truck at various job sites.
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain a broad range of heavy machinery including: bulldozers, excavators, graders, articulated trucks, compactors, and other earthmoving equipment.
  • Conduct inspections and perform troubleshooting using diagnostic tools and computerized systems.
  • Repair or replace malfunctioning components, including hydraulic systems, engines, and undercarriage assemblies.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, fluid checks, and component adjustments.
  • Test machinery post-repair to ensure proper functionality per OEM standards.
  • Keep accurate service logs and maintenance documentation.
  • Work closely with supervisors to prioritize service needs and support project timelines.
  • Support and train apprentices as required.
  • Adhere to all workplace safety standards and regulations.
  • Occasionally assist with heavy truck repairs

Qualifications:

  • Journeyperson Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certification (or eligibility for certification).
  • Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in heavy equipment service.
  • Previous exposure to CAT, Hitachi, or John Deere equipment is an asset.
  • Background in civil construction, mining, or infrastructure projects is strongly preferred.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license (or provincial equivalent) required; clean driver's abstract may be requested.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working in various outdoor conditions.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow detailed technical instructions in English.
  • Mu st be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
