Qualifications

  • Journey-certified Heavy Duty Mechanic/HET or Millwright with Inter-provincial Red Seal Certification.
  • 3-5 years of related experience preferred, especially with shovel and mine equipment.
  • Driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with component change outs and general repairs.
  • Perform maintenance and lubrication checks.
  • Work collaboratively with crew and clients.

The Role

We currently have an opening for a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician with shovel experience. Will also consider Journeyperson Millwrights. This is camp work based out of Fort McMurray. This work does not have a set shift as it is outage and/or breakdown driven.

Compensation/Benefits

  • CLAC rate: $55.50/hr
  • Time and a half after 8 hours per day

Assist with…

  • Component change outs
  • Undercarriage change outs
  • Shovel splits
  • Track frame change outs
  • Bucket change outs
  • General repair
  • Maintenance and lube checks
  • Work collaboratively and professionally with the crew and the client

Experience/Education/Qualifications

  • Journey-certified Heavy Duty Mechanic/HET or Millwright with an Inter-provincial Red Seal Certification
  • Must have a JM Off Road or Millwright Ticket
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of related experience
  • Preference will be given to individuals with previous shovel and mine equipment experience
  • Must be ok with working night shifts
  • Driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
  • Aerial Work Platform (AWP) training an asset
  • Must successfully complete a site pre-access drug and alcohol test and various client orientations
  • CSTS/OSSA or BSO/CSO plus various other site specific training
  • Confined Space, AWP, Fall Protection are required
  • Crane and Rigging experience and training is an asset
  • H2S Awareness is required
  • WHMIS 2015 is required
  • Great attitude towards health and safety
  • Strong and independent work ethic
