Wajax Corporation in Grande Prairie is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Technician to join our busy shop, specializing in Allison transmissions, engine repairs and overhauls.

The role involves Monday to Friday work with occasional overtime. Ideal candidates are Journeyman Red Seal or 3rd/4th Year Apprentices with 2–3 years of relevant experience, safety focus, and strong communication and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Red Seal or 3rd/4th Year Apprentice in heavy-duty tech.
• 2-3 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment to first-time-right standards.
• Perform diagnostics, repairs and overhauls on Allison transmissions and Detroit/MTU engines.

Description

The Opportunity:

Located in Grande Prairie, be part of an accomplished team committed to delivering best-in-class service and technical expertise in a busy shop specializing in Allison transmission, engine repairs and overhauls.

The Role:

Heavy Equipment Technicians work Monday to Friday with occasional overtime opportunities. Your expertise will be key in ensuring first-time-right diagnostics and repair of, but not limited to:

• Allison transmissions
• Detroit and MTU Truck and Industrial engines

Education:

• Journeyman Red Seal Heavy Duty Technician or 3rd/4th Year Apprentice

Work Experience:

• 2-3 years relevant experience

Knowledge & Skills:

• Safety focused
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Keep your work areas, benches, and toolboxes clean and organized
• Proven ability to work with customers, demonstrating exceptional customer service
• Mechanical aptitude with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with on-highway truck/coach maintenance and repair are assets
• Coordinating with supervisors, administration, and workers, for the purpose of completing all work orders efficiently and effectively
• Work under limited supervision, leading, guiding and working with others, as required
• Fill out required paperwork. This would include forms such as work orders, hazard assessment sheets, daily time sheets, and repair lists
• Test, troubleshoot, diagnose, adjust, and replace parts and equipment/controls as required
• Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance of all equipment or assets
• CVIP license is preferred but not mandatory
• Class 3 Driver's license with Air Endorsement is preferred, but not mandatory
