Job summary

Wajax Corporation in South Edmonton is seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician to diagnose and repair Allison transmissions, Detroit/MTU engines, and perform preventive maintenance. You will work Monday to Friday with some overtime, communicating clearly with customers and colleagues to ensure first-time-right service.

Qualified candidates hold a Journeyman Red Seal in Heavy Duty Technician, with 2–3 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Red Seal Heavy Duty Technician required.
• Strong safety mindset and customer service orientation.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment, including Allison transmissions and truck engines.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair Allison transmissions, Detroit and MTU engines.
• Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance on equipment/assets.
• Coordinate with supervisors and team to complete work orders efficiently.
• Fill out work orders and time sheets accurately.
• Provide exceptional customer service and clear communication with customers.

Job description

Located in South Edmonton, be part of an accomplished team committed to delivering best-in-class service and technical expertise in a busy shop specializing in Allison transmission, engine repairs and overhauls.

The Role:

Heavy Equipment Technicians work Monday to Friday with occasional overtime opportunities. Your expertise will be key in ensuring first-time-right diagnostics and repair of, but not limited to:

• Allison transmissions
• Detroit and MTU Truck and Industrial engines

Education:

• Journeyman Red Seal Heavy Duty Technician.

Work Experience:

• 2-3 years relevant experience

Knowledge & Skills:

• Safety focused
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Keep your work areas, benches, and toolboxes clean and organized
• Proven ability to work with customers, demonstrating exceptional customer service
• Mechanical aptitude with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with on-highway truck/coach maintenance and repair are assets
• Coordinating with supervisors, administration, and workers, for the purpose of completing all work orders efficiently and effectively
• Work under limited supervision, leading, guiding and working with others, as required
• Fill out required paperwork. This would include forms such as work orders, hazard assessment sheets, daily time sheets, and repair lists
• Test, troubleshoot, diagnose, adjust, and replace parts and equipment/controls as required
• Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance of all equipment or assets
• CVIP license is preferred but not mandatory
• Class 3 Driver's license with Air Endorsement is preferred, but not mandatory
