Job description

Birch Mountain Enterprises (BME) is hiring journeyman Heavy Equipment Technicians immediately for our Fort McKay Incubator Park Location, located within the Fort McKay First Nation, to work on our off-road equipment.

Job Summary:

Based at our client site, this role involves shop and field repairs to our fleet of Wiggle Wagon trucks. Candidates should have comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of Wiggle Wagon trucks, with preference given to those experienced with water, vac, high-pressure, and flusher units.

Responsibilities:
  • Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems
  • Install new or replacement parts according to manufacturer and/or truck specifications
  • Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer standards
  • Complete repair documentation, including work orders, risk assessments, and hazard identifications
  • Follow instructions from the shop supervisor
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area and service vehicles
  • Participate in daily safety meetings and adhere to safety regulations
Qualifications:
  • Certified as a Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician with at least 3 years of off-road experience
  • Valid driver’s license (minimum Class 5) with a clean driving record
  • Knowledge of heavy truck repair, including hydraulic, electronic, suspension, and diagnostics
  • Experience with off-road equipment, especially Wiggle Wagons
  • Experience with water, vac, and steam equipment is an asset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • OSSA (or OSSA BSO) and CSTS certifications
  • Successful completion of BME pre-employment evaluation, drug & alcohol screening, and fitness for duty assessment
