Job summary

Birch Mountain Enterprises is seeking journeyman Heavy Equipment Technicians for our Fort McKay Incubator Park Location within the Fort McKay First Nation to service off-road equipment.

Operating from our client site, the role includes shop and field repairs on wiggle wagon trucks, with preference for candidates experienced in water, vac, high pressure, and flusher units. Strong safety culture and local opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be a Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician with 3+ years off-road experience.
• Valid class 5 driver's license with a clean abstract.
• Knowledge of heavy truck repair: hydraulic, electronic, suspension, diagnostics.
• Experience with off-road equipment, wiggle wagons preferred.
• OSSA (or OSSA BSO) and CSTS certification.
• Must pass BME pre-employment evaluation, D&A, and fit-for-duty screening.

Responsibilities

• Repair or replace defective parts and systems.
• Install new or replacement parts per manufacturer or truck spec.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure performance and manufacturer specs.
• Complete repair documentation including work orders, risk assessments, and hazards.
• Follow shop supervisor instructions for tasks.
• Maintain daily housekeeping of work area and service vehicle.
• Attend toolbox and safety meetings and follow safety procedures.

Job Summary:

Operating from our client site, this position involves shop and field repairs to our fleet of Wiggle wagon trucks. Candidates shall have knowledge of all aspects of wiggle wagon trucks with preference given to those who possess experience with water, vac, high pressure, and flusher units.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Repair or replace defective parts, components or systems
• Install new or replacement parts according to manufacturer and/or truck specification
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure work completed meets manufacturers’ specifications.
• Completion of repair documentation including but not limited to work order, field level risk assessment, and hazard identification
• Follow instructions for tasks assigned by the shop supervisor
• Complete daily housekeeping of assigned area or service vehicle to ensure maintenance of company image
• Attend daily toolbox and safety meetings as scheduled and adhere to corporate and site safety regulations and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Must be certified as a Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician (min 3 years Off-road experience)
• Possess a valid driver’s license (min class 5) with a clean abstract
• Be knowledgeable in all aspects of heavy truck repair including, but not limited to hydraulic, electronic, suspension, and computer diagnosis
• Previous or related experience with off-road equipment, specifically wiggle wagons
• Previous experience with water, vac, and steam equipment would be considered an asset.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills
• OSSA (or OSSA BSO) and CSTS certification
• Must successfully pass BME pre-employment evaluation, D&A, and fit for duty pre-employment screening
