The Successful Applicant Will

  • Perform inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of truck, trailer combinations and various off road equipment including compaction equipment, dozers, excavators, graders, loaders and paving equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical, hydraulic and mechanical troubles.
  • Perform preventative, planned and unplanned maintenance, repair, overhaul, troubleshoot and test mechanical and electronic equipment according to company standards.
  • Complete maintenance records and documentation as required.
  • Work in a shop setting when not in the field.
  • Work from a service truck in the field as required with possible overnight stays.
  • Participate as a vital team member, contributing towards the success of the organization, which may involve participation in other areas of technical and field support, as required.
  • Perform duties in a safe, timely and cost-efficient manner.
  • Other duties as required.

The successful applicant MUST HAVE

  • Alberta HET certification or minimum 3rd year apprentice or out of province HET certification with Interprovincial Red Seal.
  • Your own tools.
  • Basic welding knowledge and skills (welding certification is an asset).
  • Minimum Class 5 license with clean abstract (valid Class 1 License is an asset).
  • Licensed CVIP certification is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to multitask and shift priorities as required.
  • Requires a flexible work schedule including overtime and weekend work during the construction season (May - November).
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be in good physical shape in order to work in physically demanding conditions.
