Job description

Brandt is currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician for our Windsor Construction & Forestry location.

This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry equipment and attachments in a shop environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Efficiently evaluate, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair heavy-duty equipment.
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Operate related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems.
  • Document all machine information, actions taken, and time spent on work orders accurately and completely.
  • Assess service task hazards continually and ensure work is performed safely and to accepted standards.
  • Use computer applications (e.g., John Deere Service Advisor) to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis.
  • Use parts catalogues to locate and order parts from parts personnel.
  • Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.
  • Other duties as required.

Required Experience

  • Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designation preferred.
  • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment considered an asset.
  • Experience with electrical diagnosis/troubleshooting and aftertreatment systems is an asset.
  • Dedicated to customer service and service excellence.
