Job summary

Kenan Advantage Group Inc. is seeking a Journeyman or 2-4 year Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our Canada operations.

You will perform maintenance and repair of fleet trucks and trailers, interpret work orders and manuals, and contribute to safe, efficient operations. Qualifications

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on truck and trailer fleet.
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions and repair or replace parts.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret work orders and manuals; perform preventive maintenance.
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts on trucks/trailers.
  • Operate oxy-acetylene torches or perform minor welding repairs (non-code).
  • Test repaired equipment to meet specs and regulations.
  • Complete service repair orders and bill parts used.
  • Maintain flexible schedule including evenings/weekends.

Job description

The Kenan Advantage Group Inc., (KAG), is North America’s largest tank truck transporter and logistics provider, delivering energy commodities, specialty products, merchant gases, and food products across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

We have full-service shops where our Heavy Equipment Technicians and Trailer Techs are responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and repair of our fleet of transport trucks and trailers.

We are currently seeking a

Journey person or 2-4 th year Heavy Equipment Mechanic

About the position:

Depending on skill level and experience you will be exposed or trained on:

  • Interpreting work orders and technical manuals, performing scheduled preventative maintenance services, diagnosing faults or malfunctions
  • Adjusting equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems on truck and trailers
  • Operating oxy-acetylene torches or perform minor welding repairs (non-code work)
  • Testing repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that the work done meets manufacturers’ specifications and legislated regulations
  • Completing service repair orders and bill out all parts used on repair order
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include evenings and weekends
