Job summary

Federal Signal Corporation in London, ON is seeking a licensed heavy equipment technician to perform safety inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on municipal equipment including vac trucks and street sweepers. You’ll work in-shop with the service team, participate in preventative maintenance, and ensure a clean, safe workspace.

Eligible candidates hold 310T or 421A certification, have hydraulic/electrical system knowledge, and a valid driver’s license with clean abstract; related experience

Qualifications

• Valid 310T Truck & Coach or 421A Heavy Equipment Technician certification.
• Previous experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Valid Driver’s License with clean abstract.
• Safety-first mindset and team orientation.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety inspections, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs on heavy-duty and municipal equipment.
• Work on vac trucks, hydro vacs, street sweepers, and refuse/recycling trucks.
• Collaborate with Service Writer and Parts team to ensure efficient service.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and maintain a clean, safe workspace.

Location and Schedule

London, ON

Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Day Shift | 42.5 hrs./week

• $40.00 to $45.00 per hour for licensed technicians.

What You’ll Do

• Perform safety inspections, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs on a wide range of heavy-duty and niche municipal equipment.
• Work on vac trucks, hydro vacs, street sweepers, refuse/recycling trucks, and more.
• Collaborate with the Service Writer and Parts team to ensure efficient service.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and maintain a clean, safe workspace.

What You Bring

• Valid 310T Truck & Coach or 421A Heavy Equipment Technician
• Previous experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
