Job summary

Brandt Group of Companies in Stoney Creek, ON is seeking a Service Technician for our Construction & Forestry location. The role covers repair and maintenance of heavy equipment in a shop environment with multiple shifts available.

You will diagnose, repair and service heavy-duty equipment, document work on orders, and use John Deere Service Advisor to record maintenance and inspections. Strong electrical diagnostics and a customer-service mindset are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience in heavy equipment maintenance preferred.
• Journeyperson in Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade preferred.
• Electrical diagnosis and aftertreatment systems experience is a plus.
• Commitment to customer service and service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate working condition, diagnose, assemble/disassemble and repair heavy-duty equipment.
• Order parts and use related instruments and tools safely.
• Document machine information, actions taken and time on work orders.
• Ensure tasks are performed safely and to standards, using John Deere Service Advisor.
• Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.

Brandt is currently seeking a Service Technician for our Stoney Creek Construction & Forestry location with multiple shifts available.

This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry-based equipment and attachments in a shop environment.

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair heavy-duty equipment
• Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
• Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
• Accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken
• Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
• Use computer applications and information systems (i.e. John Deere Service Advisor) to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
• Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel
• Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required

What We Look For

• Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred
• Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred
• Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment considered an asset
• Experience with electrical diagnosis /troubleshooting and aftertreatment systems considered an asset
• Must be committed to customer service and service excellence
